We’re having a birthday, and you’re invited to the party!

On January 15th2015, The Frontier officially opened as a space open to all across the Triangle and North Carolina. What a year it’s been! Here are a just a few of the highlights:

In April, a piece of the Berlin Wall was installed in the Atrium. It continues to serve as an inspirational piece to everyone that enters the building.

Steve Case, co-founder of AOL, stopped by to speak to area students about lessons he’s learned over the years.

A new website focused on the Carolina Hurricanes was launched out a partnerships that were formed by tenants at The Frontier.

US2020 RTP held TWO expos focused on exposing students to STEM careers. More than 800 students came through the building just for these events.

10,000 meals were packed by volunteers of the RTP Rotary Club for Stop Hunger now.

Our available office space on the 3rd floor was completely full by the summer! It’s been great to see how many companies have found the space valuable. The team is currently working on a plan to upfit even more space.

So, how are we going to celebrate a year of awesome? With a week of parties, of course! From January 19th – 20th there will be fun activities taking place in The Frontier. Just like the space, each day will have an element of surprise or creativity.

Tuesday: Prepare yourself for a surprise of epic proportions. We’ve listened to feedback from the community, and will be presenting a present that’s right in line with the traditional first year anniversary gift.

Wednesday: If you’ve ever been to the Fusion room by Home Base, you know it’s a bit bland. That will soon be changing! From Noon – 2pm, everyone is invited to stop by and paint the room. Don’t expect any normal paintbrushes or rollers, we’re doing this a bit differently!

Thursday: If you’re planning to attend RTP 180, prepare yourself for a special treat! We’ve got some fun things planned for this even focused on Makers & DIYers of the Triangle.

Friday: This event is just for The Frontier VIPs. Staff at The Frontier wanted to show their appreciation for those that took a chance on a building while it was still very much a construction zone.

If you’re in the area next week, be sure to stop by and say, “Hello!” If you’ve never been to The Frontier before, I hope you’ll take the time to check us out in 2016. There are many things on the horizon that will keep pushing #RTPforward.
