“STEM is the best thing a girl could ever ask for!” Those were the words of our STEM Student of the Year K-6 winner Stephanie Harwell from Brentwood Magnet Elementary at the STEMmy awards last night. For some of us in the audience, these words truly spoke to the impact the love of STEM is having in our present day community.

In a place where the love of STEM is evident, this place also has pioneers who make sure this love of STEM never dies out. On May 24th, STEM in the Park hosted the second annual STEMmys to celebrate the winners of their ten STEM categories. At the Research Triangle Park Headquarters, 120 people consisting of sponsors , award winners and families attended the event to celebrate the winners and their achievements.  STEM in the Park awarded individuals, companies and organizations for the great work they did in STEM this year.
